Depending on who you’re travelling with and which villa you choose will depend on whether you’re allocated Funama and Ahima as your main restaurant. There are also à la carte restaurants to enjoy at an additional charge.

Vilamendhoo has two buffet restaurants and two à la carte restaurants. If you’re staying in a Garden Room, Adjoining Beach Villa or Standalone Villa, your meals will be included at family-friendly Funama, while guests in Jacuzzi Beach Villas and Jacuzzi Water Villas will dine at adults-only Ahima. These spacious buffet restaurants each have live cooking stations and theme nights including a Maldivian Night every Friday.

Asian Wok — serves up traditional Japanese teppanyaki, while Hot Rock is a must-visit for the chance to cook your own sizzling meat, vegetables and seafood on hot volcanic rocks. Four bars are dotted around the island: you’ll find Sunset Bar (adults only) and Boashi Bar near the pool, Asian Wok Bar at the eastern end of the island, and Bonthi Bar perched at the water’s edge.

It’s worth making reservations at Hot Rock for a memorable evening cooking your own dishes over volcanic rock.

Funama — If you’re staying in a Garden Room, Adjoining Beach Villa or Standalone Villa, your meals will be included at family-friendly Funama, an open-air buffet restaurant. Dine inside, or on the overwater deck. Ahima — Guests in Jacuzzi Beach Villas and Jacuzzi Water Villas will dine at adults-only Ahima for all their buffet-style meals. Asian Wok — At the island’s eastern end, there’s a live station for traditional Japanese teppanyaki. Hot Rock — Cook your own sizzling meat, vegetables, and seafood on hot volcanic rocks. Sunset Bar — Next to the adult’s infinity pool, this is the perfect spot for couples to enjoy sundowners before dinner. Boashi Bar — Poolside bar serving ice cream, drinks, and smoothies. Bonthi Bar — Find a place on the overwater deck to sip on a tropical cocktail.
