Fresh, fun, and modern
Wake to sunrise yoga on the beach, kayak and snorkel through the lagoon, spend an afternoon in the spa, or watch the kids spiral down the waterslide into the ocean before dinner at one of three restaurants. Live DJs hit the decks by the pool, enticing night revellers to stay and play to a cool soundtrack and after-dark cocktails.
The day-to-night vibe transforms from chilled island hangout to a buzzy after-hours scene. Wake to a spot of sunrise yoga on the beach, kayak through the lagoon then while away an afternoon in the spa before dinner at one of three restaurants (one vegetarian). Live DJs then hit the decks by the pool, enticing night revellers to stay to a cool soundtrack and after-dark cocktails.
The transparent aquamarine waters of the lagoon are home to stingrays, green turtles and reef sharks – you can spot these even from the jetty and shore. However, snorkelling and scuba diving are the best ways to explore the rich marine life here. Snorkels can be borrowed from the resort as part of your all-inclusive package, as can stand-up paddleboards and kayaks. Beach bums can pick from a trio of powder-soft crescents – kids will love the spiral water slide into the ocean – while two infinity pools (one adults-only) offer blue-on-blue idyll.
This modern island hideout ticks all the boxes for families, honeymooners, and friends alike.

An incredible way to kick off your Maldives holiday
“There's something pretty special about travelling by seaplane. The view from the sky is extraordinary - tiny specs of island and shades of blue that barely look real.”

Snorkelling and diving isn't the only way to catch sight of the underwater world

Food & drink
The Courtyard is the main restaurant with plenty to keep everyone’s tastes happy. But a good selection of other restaurants add interest, and the overwater bar, The Rock, will become a favourite haunt for sunset cocktails.
This is an all-inclusive resort with three restaurants and three bars to pick from. Located on the main island, The Courtyard is a buffet restaurant with live cooking stations and themed nights. Be sure to try the Maldivian specialties here, including Garudhiya, a fish broth served with rice, lime, chilli and onions.
Guests can have one fine-dining experience at each of the resort’s two à la carte options: Just Grill, which serves fresh seafood and grilled meats, and JustWok, a pan-Asian restaurant serving sharing platters – both located on the adults-only Banyan Island (children allowed at restaurants for dinner). There are afternoon light bites at The Sangs, while all-day drinks are available at One Banyan Pool and The Rock – the standout bar for sunsets, located on the jetty overlooking the ocean.
Don’t miss the handmade dim sum at Just Wok.
Just Grill — An ocean-facing à la carte restaurant serving daily lunch and dinner. Fresh seafood and grilled meats are the go-to options here. Just Wok — A contemporary Asian restaurant presenting vegetarian family-style platters for lunch and dinner. The Courtyard — The resort’s central restaurant, The Courtyard serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet-style, although à la carte options are available. There’s a Gala Dinner every Friday night that showcases local delicacies. The Rock — A bar on stilts over a shallow lagoon where you can find a comfy beanbag or take a seat at the bar to enjoy the ocean breeze and the sunset. The Sangs — A vibrant pool bar serving a full drinks menu and light bites.

Diving in the Maldives
In the South Malé Atoll, Hukrueli is another place to see rays and cleaner fish, and Maaya Thila, a protected marine area, is home to white-tip sharks, turtles, zebra morays and the elusive guitar shark. Hanifaru lagoon in the Baa Atoll is one of the best places to see whale sharks and manta rays – June to September being the best time as this is during the monsoon season and equinox when the lagoon is filled with plankton. The Scuba Diver course provides pre-entry level certification in three days and on completion you can then upgrade to an Open Water Diver qualification by taking the additional five day course. Our Ten Dives and Six Consecutive Days diving allow qualified divers to make the most of their time in these beautiful islands. Courses are available at Kurumba Maldives, Dhigali Maldives, Velidhu and Meeru.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a visa to visit the Maldives?
British passport holders are issued a free 30-day visitor visa on arrival. You'll need a passport valid for the duration of your stay, a confirmed onward ticket and proof of your accommodation booking.
When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.
What currency is used in the Maldives, and do I need cash?
The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa, but resorts price and bill in US dollars and take major cards. Most guests never need cash — a small amount is handy for tipping.
Is the Maldives good for honeymoons outside peak season?
Yes. Off-peak brings noticeably lower rates and quieter islands, and rain tends to come in short bursts rather than all day. Many resorts add honeymoon extras during these months.
What activities are there for older kids and teens in the Maldives?
Most resorts run watersports centres with windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding, plus PADI dive courses from around age ten. Snorkelling safaris, sandbank trips and night fishing all suit older children.
