The only question here is what comes first; an ocean dip, a Balinese massage or a cocktail at the swim-up bar? Adaaran Select Hudhuran Fushi is chilled out and uncrowded. A place to paddle out to the home surf break and learn to dive at the house reef. Grab lunch at the Beach Grill and dinner on the deck of the Sunset Restaurant where raspberry sorbet coloured skies are to die for.
Life at Adaaran Select Hudhuran Fushi is very chilled. It’s a place for snoozing under the shade of a coconut thatch umbrella, cooling off with an icy drink at the pool’s swim-up bar, and feasting on mouth-watering food while watching the surf. The resort is set in 83 acres of exotic garden tropics, so it never feels crowded. It’s family-friendly, too. There’s a children’s pool and kids’ club, and the staff are brilliant with little ones. The clear waters make visibility excellent for snorkelling, or you could explore the island on a sunset fishing trip or dolphin cruise.
A low-key family-friendly resort with a super relaxed mood and lots of local excursions.

Pizza is served with a side of surf at Lohis, where you can gaze out at the crashing waves while tucking into a moreish Margherita. The Beach Grill is great for lunchtime eats, then there’s the buffet-style Banyan Restaurant, à la carte Sunset Restaurant and Indian Pavilion, serving authentic flavours from India’s north and south. For cocktails, head to Tiki Bar or the 24-hour Hiyala Bar.
Lohis Wave — is a favourite of ours on the island, with its stone-baked pizzas and views of the surf. You can dine with your toes nuzzled in the sand at buffet restaurant, Banyan, serving round-the-world cuisine through breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fill up on sizzling seafood and burgers at the Beach Grill and savour fragrant Asian dishes at Indian Pavilion. The à la carte Sunset Restaurant is reserved exclusively for Ocean Villa guests. Signature cocktails are poured at Tiki Bar, and the poolside Hiyala Bar is open 24 hours for tempting nightcaps.

November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.

The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa, but resorts price and bill in US dollars and take major cards. Most guests never need cash — a small amount is handy for tipping.
Is the Maldives good for honeymoons outside peak season?
