Luxury Honeymoon to the Maldives
The vows are done. Paradise awaits.
Infinity pools overlooking the Indian Ocean. A breathtaking mile long sandbank. Paddleboarding along an impossibly blue atoll and snorkelling from the house reef.
Kuramathi caters to families and couples and we love it so much we've made it exclusive to Kuoni in the UK. For dining, your buffet restaurant is allocated on arrival, but you can upgrade to select all-inclusive for a choice of nine à la carte restaurants.

Maldives

The paradise island resorts of dreams await in the Maldives, a cluster of Indian Ocean atolls. Not all islands are the same - some are perfect for 'just the two of us' breaks while others families are welcomed with open arms. While you could be forgiven for doing very little, there are a surprising amount of things to do - especially out on or under the water.

Explore coral reefs, shipwrecks, and house reefs
Spend a day getting up close and personal with the Maldives' best-kept secrets. Beneath the surface lies a world of colourful coral, darting fish, and the occasional curious turtle, not to mention shipwrecks that have been quietly gathering stories (and barnacles) for decades. Grab a snorkel or strap on a tank; either way, you're in for a show.
Indulge in overwater or underwater spa therapies
Whether suspended above turquoise waters or nestled beneath the surface, the spa is where time slows right down. Skilled therapists draw on local ingredients and time-honoured techniques to deliver massages, facials, and wellness rituals, leaving you feeling renewed and recharged.

These are some of my favourite things to do in the Maldives... the things I recommend time and time again!

Frequently asked questions
Questions? Sorted.
The questions we're asked most about this trip — visas, timings, budgets and everything in between. If yours isn't here, an expert is a phone call away.
Do I need a visa to visit the Maldives?
British passport holders are issued a free 30-day visitor visa on arrival. You'll need a passport valid for the duration of your stay, a confirmed onward ticket and proof of your accommodation booking.
When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.
What currency is used in the Maldives, and do I need cash?
The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa, but resorts price and bill in US dollars and take major cards. Most guests never need cash — a small amount is handy for tipping.
Is the Maldives good for honeymoons outside peak season?
Yes. Off-peak brings noticeably lower rates and quieter islands, and rain tends to come in short bursts rather than all day. Many resorts add honeymoon extras during these months.
What activities are there for older kids and teens in the Maldives?
Most resorts run watersports centres with windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding, plus PADI dive courses from around age ten. Snorkelling safaris, sandbank trips and night fishing all suit older children.

We'd always dreamed of the Maldives, and it exceeded every expectation. The water was the most incredible shade of turquoise, our overwater villa was absolute paradise, and the staff made us feel so special from the moment we arrived.
