Waves Resort & Spa, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort
Barbados’ first all-inclusive wellness hotel
Split into two sides, this all-inclusive spa retreat caters to couples as well as kids. Oceanside is home to family-friendly rooms and a pool with cabanas and day beds, while the adults-only area sits across the road with a spa, serenity pool and yoga pavilion. All guests get complimentary spa treatments, and there are various other activities included – from cooking demos to watersports lessons at the Aqua School. Dig your toes into the sand and let the Pool and Beach ambassadors wait on you; this is your time to unwind.
This beachfront boutique-style hotel is divided into two sections — the beach side which is home to the family-friendly rooms and lounge pool, complete with cabanas and day beds, or across the road in the peaceful adults-only area where you'll find the spa, serenity pool, whirlpool and yoga pavilion. Guests staying for five nights or longer can enjoy between one and three free spa treatments depending on room type, including massages, soothing facials and pedicures.
Guests are encouraged to stay fit and healthy with a range of activities, from motorised watersports to fitness classes. When it comes to dining there are plenty of healthy options as well as some indulgent treats. Shiso serves freshly made-to-order Asian dishes and sushi while Seascape offers Mediterranean-infused cuisine with stunning open-air views of the sea. Grab a wrap and latte to go at Kýma, the coffee bar and deli which also offers a range of tempting pastries and ice creams. Relax by the pool or on the beach as the hotel’s ‘ambassadors’ bring round iced water, frozen grapes and ice creams to cool you down. And if you fancy a change of scene you can take the complimentary water taxi to select sister hotels on the west coast and make the most of the group's Dine Around Programme.
Relax and re-energise at this boutique wellness retreat, divided into adults-only and family-friendly sections.

Luxury Catamaran Cruise
• Duration: 5 hours • Daily departures • Operates year round • Group experience Good to know — It’s a perfect trip for honeymooners and families alike, but for maximum enjoyment we recommend that any children are old enough to be confident in the water. Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a visa to visit the Maldives?
British passport holders are issued a free 30-day visitor visa on arrival. You'll need a passport valid for the duration of your stay, a confirmed onward ticket and proof of your accommodation booking.
When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.
What currency is used in the Maldives, and do I need cash?
The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa, but resorts price and bill in US dollars and take major cards. Most guests never need cash — a small amount is handy for tipping.
Is the Maldives good for honeymoons outside peak season?
Yes. Off-peak brings noticeably lower rates and quieter islands, and rain tends to come in short bursts rather than all day. Many resorts add honeymoon extras during these months.
What activities are there for older kids and teens in the Maldives?
Most resorts run watersports centres with windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding, plus PADI dive courses from around age ten. Snorkelling safaris, sandbank trips and night fishing all suit older children.
