The Orchid Conservatory showcases a hanging garden and ‘orchidscape’ within a glass atrium, so you can enjoy an intimate afternoon tea in a unique space. Alternatively, tuck into English afternoon tea with a Malaysian twist at the Tea Lounge. Contango is a favourite of ours, with open kitchens serving western, Chinese, Japanese, Malay and Thai cuisine. If you are after a truly authentic experience, head to the Colonial Café where you can taste traditional cuisine from the colonial era.
Contango — has an open kitchen where you can see the huge range of cuisine being prepared, with everything from western pizzas to churassco grill, Malay and Japanese. The Colonial Cafe has plush red leather chairs and timber panelling, while the elegant Tea Lounge has an equally colonial feel, serving English afternoon tea with a Malaysian twist. If afternoon tea is what you're after, a visit to The Orchid Conservatory is an absolute must. Here, you can savour delicious scones surrounded by the pretty greenery. For a really indulgent experience, head to The Smoke House where you can enjoy the luxury of your own personal chef who will prepare a menu exclusively for you. Simple yet refined, The Bar is a great spot for an evening tipple.

When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.
