The Chedi Muscat
A city oasis
A chic and contemporary oceanside retreat set on the edge of Oman’s capital.
It’s hard to believe that such a zen-like retreat lies just a short distance from the capital. The mostly minimalist style is accented by traditional Omani and Asian twists. Feel your stresses melt away as you wander through the hotel’s beautiful gardens, scattered with tranquil ponds and swaying palms. This hotel is Oman’s only member of the 'Leading Hotels of the World', and it shows in its elegant facilities which include the longest pool in Arabia at 103 metres, one of Muscat’s largest spas and a 370-metre private beach.

If you love French cuisine, look no further than La Belle Vie

An incredible way to kick off your Maldives holiday
“There's something pretty special about travelling by seaplane. The view from the sky is extraordinary - tiny specs of island and shades of blue that barely look real.”

The iconic, mile-long sandbank
Perfect for isolated sunbathing, dramatic photoshoots, and watching breathtaking Maldivian sunsets.

Snorkelling and diving isn't the only way to catch sight of the underwater world
“If snorkelling and diving isn't for you, it's possible to catch a glimpse of the reef from a glass-bottomed boat instead.”

Food & drink
When it comes to choosing where to eat, it all depends on your mood and tastes. Dine on seafood at the The Beach Restaurant, or go for a casual meal at The Long Pool Cabana. At the main eatery, The Restaurant, watch skilful chefs in the four open kitchens as they whip up western, Asian, Middle Eastern and Indian dishes.
The Restaurant — features four open display kitchens allowing you to watch the chefs create the fresh Mediterranean, Arabic, Indian and Asian dishes which you are about to enjoy. Between mid-September and May, choose to dine at the laid-back Beach Restaurant for waterside dining and seafood specialties. The charming Arabian Courtyard, is open from October to April and serves a traditional Arabic mezze. At the adjacent Shisha Courtyard (seasonal), you can try a variety of shishas and drinks while relaxing on comfortable seating under the stars.
The three pools each have their own cabana restaurants and bars where you can order poolside meals and refreshing drinks. At the Serai Pool Cabana international dishes are available for lunch and dinner while at the Long Pool Cabana (seasonal) Japanese and other Asian specialities are on offer. The Lobby Lounge overlooks the landscaped gardens towards the sea serving drinks and snacks and The Club Lounge is for the exclusive use of those staying in Chedi Club Rooms and Chedi Club Suites.
Stretching along the shoreline, The Beach Restaurant provides a wonderful setting for seafood specialities.

Questions? Sorted.
Do I need a visa to visit the Maldives?
British passport holders are issued a free 30-day visitor visa on arrival. You'll need a passport valid for the duration of your stay, a confirmed onward ticket and proof of your accommodation booking.
When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.
What currency is used in the Maldives, and do I need cash?
The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa, but resorts price and bill in US dollars and take major cards. Most guests never need cash — a small amount is handy for tipping.
Is the Maldives good for honeymoons outside peak season?
Yes. Off-peak brings noticeably lower rates and quieter islands, and rain tends to come in short bursts rather than all day. Many resorts add honeymoon extras during these months.
What activities are there for older kids and teens in the Maldives?
Most resorts run watersports centres with windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding, plus PADI dive courses from around age ten. Snorkelling safaris, sandbank trips and night fishing all suit older children.
