STORY Seychelles
Perfect peace and quiet
As you make your way up the sweeping drive and the grand entrance catches your eye, you can tell you’re in for an incredible experience. Go beyond the entrance and see the jaw-dropping Beau Vallon beach, with its backdrop of those verdant greens only possible in the tropics, and you’ll know you have made a great choice for some proper Seychelles-style relaxation. And with one of the best spas in the country – the oh-so peaceful Sesel Spa – on site and free yoga sessions four times a week, there’s little choice but to slow the pace down to almost a standstill.
There is the opportunity to up the ante if staying still isn’t quite you. Beau Vallon beach is an exceptional spot for watersports and this is one of the only places in Seychelles where you can swim and snorkel all year round – there’s a reef just 50 metres from the water’s edge. You can join a snorkelling tour three times a week if you want a bit of guidance about what’s what, but there’s nothing to stop you heading out on your own. To fuel both your adventures and your down time, there’s a surprisingly good choice of restaurants for a smaller resort like STORY. The buffet restaurant, Vascos, is wonderfully breezy open-air venue for fresh buffet dishes but our personal favourite is the highly rated Seyshima. It’s set under a thatched roof out on the lagoon and the top table here is undoubtably the teppanyaki grill. We highly recommend upgrading to all inclusive which includes dinner at a choice of four restaurants - a rareity in the Seychelles.
STORY Seychelles has a strong focus on sustainability which can be seen around the resort and through on-going projects to protect the environment for future generations. As well as aiming to be single-use plastic free, they take part in a coral restoration scheme, carry out regular beach cleans, have a botanical garden and a water bottling plant and use local products and produce wherever possible. Young guests can even get involved thanks to conservation-themed activities organised at the kids’ club.
This beautiful boutique retreat is just steps from one of Mahé’s best beaches and has a great-value all-inclusive upgrade.

Food & drink
There’s a surprisingly good choice of places to eat for a smaller resort like STORY, with three restaurants, two bars that also serve food and a private dining experience on top of that.
The hotel’s main restaurant Vascos is named after the 15th/16th Portuguese explorer, Vasco da Gama, and is a fantastic indoor-outdoor dining space. The food on offer here is a mix of Creole and international, with the theme at dinner changing each day, and is created at live cooking stations. We know you’ll love Eden, a toes-in-the-sand venue where prime cuts and fresh-as-possible seafood is cooked on the barbecue. Seyshima, the Asian restaurant that’s situated out on the lagoon, is definitively something special. It’s won numerous awards for its service and incredible teppanyaki dishes, ramen bowls and sushi. For a more French Polynesian vibe, head over to the Trader Vic’s, which is one of the most highly rated restaurants on Mahé. There are Vic’s classics like All In fried rice and Tuna Tataki and mouthwatering dishes cooked in the wood-fired oven like Miso marinated salmon and Sumac marinated chicken. If there’s something to celebrate go all out and book an evening ‘Tête-À-Tête’; you’ll be talking about this private and personalised experience for years to come. Two bars complete the STORY Seychelles’ venues: 1502 Bar and laid-back Ripples Pool Bar.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a visa to visit the Maldives?
British passport holders are issued a free 30-day visitor visa on arrival. You'll need a passport valid for the duration of your stay, a confirmed onward ticket and proof of your accommodation booking.
When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.
What currency is used in the Maldives, and do I need cash?
The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa, but resorts price and bill in US dollars and take major cards. Most guests never need cash — a small amount is handy for tipping.
Is the Maldives good for honeymoons outside peak season?
Yes. Off-peak brings noticeably lower rates and quieter islands, and rain tends to come in short bursts rather than all day. Many resorts add honeymoon extras during these months.
What activities are there for older kids and teens in the Maldives?
Most resorts run watersports centres with windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding, plus PADI dive courses from around age ten. Snorkelling safaris, sandbank trips and night fishing all suit older children.
