Silavadee Pool Spa Resort
Feel on top of the world
A hillside hideaway with picture-perfect views, ocean-view dining and a focus on wellbeing.
This upscale eco sanctuary has magnificent sea views from its quiet pocket on Koh Samui. Its buildings are embedded into the cliffside around huge beach boulders, where pool villas float over the water’s edge and dinner tables are perfectly angled for oceanside date nights. Silavadee’s activity programme is refreshingly different, taking on a wellness spin with sessions in pranayama (ocean breathing), origami and temple visits to make merit with monks. The resort’s location means you’re just a short drive from Chaweng and Lamai but tucked away from the busy main beach on a mini peninsula. Bask in the peaceful quiet of the almost-secret beach a few steps from the resort or hop on a bicycle and explore the neighbourhood.

If you love French cuisine, look no further than La Belle Vie

An incredible way to kick off your Maldives holiday
“There's something pretty special about travelling by seaplane. The view from the sky is extraordinary - tiny specs of island and shades of blue that barely look real.”

The iconic, mile-long sandbank
Perfect for isolated sunbathing, dramatic photoshoots, and watching breathtaking Maldivian sunsets.

Snorkelling and diving isn't the only way to catch sight of the underwater world
“If snorkelling and diving isn't for you, it's possible to catch a glimpse of the reef from a glass-bottomed boat instead.”

Food & drink
It’s in the evening that the resort comes alive, although it rarely feels busy at Silavadee. Guests make a beeline for the rooftop Star Bar for live music, epic sunsets and cocktails under the stars. The restaurants are all dreamy, whether you’re eating exotic fruits for breakfast by the full-length windows at Moon or having dinner at sunset out on The Height’s striking terrace. Sun Lounge is filled with all things good and healthy like bowls of nutritious, whole foods and juices blended with superfoods and raw produce.
The Sun Lounge captures the resort's healthy ethos with its menu of wellness-inspired food. With picturesque views out across the Gulf of Thailand, The Height serves up authentic Thai cuisine in its glass-walled dining room and al fresco terrace. For a romantic meal of international dishes to a backdrop of stunning sea views, head to the Sun Deck. Moon is a great casual spot to enjoy either a buffet breakfast or a romantic dinner in the moonlight. During the day, treat yourself to a pastry and a coffee at the Sun Lounge. If you enjoy a post-dinner drink, head to Star, the open-air rooftop bar with beautiful sunset views. The Pool Bar is open throughout the day, as is the Sun Pool Bar where you can bob up from the water for a cocktail.
Locally sourced ingredients and herbs are used in the authentic Thai dishes at The Height. It has a wonderful clifftop setting overlooking the beach and coastline.

Koh Samui Island Highlights
There’s more to Koh Samui than its gorgeous beaches as you’ll discover on this half-day journey around the island’s best-known sights. Top of the list is Wat Phra Yai, also known as Big Buddha Temple, on its own little island reached by a short causeway. Its star attraction is its impossible-to-miss 12-metre-high golden statue of Buddha, in a seated pose that represents purity. Take in the hilltop view over the sparkling sea and marvel at one of natures peculiar wonders - Grandma and Grandpa Rocks. Finally, you’ll visit Wat Khunaram and its slightly macabre claim to fame: the mummified body of a monk who died there in 1973, displayed in a glass case, and have some time to do some shopping in Nathon, the island's capital. • Duration: half day • Daily departures • Operates year round • Private experience Good to know — Bring plenty of cash, as the prices at Nathon’s market are good value compared to those in the main tourist areas.

Koh Samui Off Road Escape: Temples, Waterfalls & Wonders
• Duration: full day • Time: 9am to 4.30pm • Operates Monday, Wednesday and Friday • Operates year round • Group experience Good to know — The trip is suitable for all, but the path to the waterfall is quite steep, so wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and carry your belongings in a backpack to leave your hands free.

Samui Elephant Kingdom
Embark on an unforgettable journey at Koh Samui’s compassionate elephant sanctuary. Begin your adventure on the stunning 400-meter Skywalk, offering breathtaking views as these gentle giants feast and roam below. Dive into fascinating educational experiences led by passionate mahouts, then roll up your sleeves to craft nutritious Powerball treats for the elephants – a practical activity that gives you a deeper understanding of the animal’s nutritional diet. Wrap up your visit with a delicious spread of local flavours, leaving with cherished memories and the pride of supporting ethical wildlife care. • Duration: half day • Timings: Monday, Wednesday and Saturday 8.30am to 12.00pm or 1.30pm to 5.00pm • Operates year round • Group tour

Questions? Sorted.
Do I need a visa to visit the Maldives?
British passport holders are issued a free 30-day visitor visa on arrival. You'll need a passport valid for the duration of your stay, a confirmed onward ticket and proof of your accommodation booking.
When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.
What currency is used in the Maldives, and do I need cash?
The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa, but resorts price and bill in US dollars and take major cards. Most guests never need cash — a small amount is handy for tipping.
Is the Maldives good for honeymoons outside peak season?
Yes. Off-peak brings noticeably lower rates and quieter islands, and rain tends to come in short bursts rather than all day. Many resorts add honeymoon extras during these months.
What activities are there for older kids and teens in the Maldives?
Most resorts run watersports centres with windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding, plus PADI dive courses from around age ten. Snorkelling safaris, sandbank trips and night fishing all suit older children.
