Tucked among 22 acres of beachfront landscaped gardens on the Halkidiki peninsula, Ikos Olivia shines with its impressive all-inclusive package – think meals curated by Michelin-starred chefs, 24-hour room service, a Dine Out programme giving you complimentary dining at local restaurants and unlimited non-motorised watersports, among other standouts. There’s plenty going on here; children are well looked after with their own pool, playground and kids’ clubs, while the spa is a peaceful haven for couples after a little down-time. Food & drink
Dining is an exciting venture here, with all of the resort’s à la carte restaurants overseen by Michelin-starred chefs. Three of the restaurants are open throughout the day, serving Mediterranean, traditional Greek and French fare, while dinner adds in Italian and Asian. There are several bars and a gelaterie too, and wine lovers will find plenty to please at the Cava wine cellar. For a taste of local flavours, the innovative Ikos Dine Out service invites guests to eat at a restaurant in the nearby coastal village of Gerakini for no extra cost.
Dining is indulgent at IKOS Olivia. Guests are spoilt with à la carte Michelin-starred quality dining; both the Italian restaurant FRESCO and contemporary Greek OUZO are headed by Michelin-starred chefs. At ANAYA, you can enjoy exquisite Asian dishes while PROVENCE offers delicious Provençal cuisine. The main restaurant FLAVORS is where to head for all-day Mediterranean dining, and also features a designated adults area if you prefer to dine away in more sophisticated surrounds. There are six bars to choose from, including the Almyra Beach Bar and the swim-up Aqua Pool Bar.
It’s hard to beat the combination of exceptional views and tantalising food at Ouzo, with contemporary Greek dishes designed by Michelin-starred chef Lefteris Lazarou.
Flavors — Set right on the beachfront, this Mediterranean-inspired restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets centred around fresh produce, with a carefully-selected wine list for pairings. Provence — Indulge in traditional French fare at this Provence-inspired restaurant – think saffron mussels, filet de boeuf and mille-feuille – and head for the dedicated quiet area for extra tranquillity. Fresco — With dishes designed by Michelin-starred chef Ettore Botrini, this elegant Italian spot serves pizzas, pastas and seafood dishes with a glittering Aegean backdrop. Anaya — Tuck into Thai, Chinese and Indian cuisine at this colourful Asian restaurant, with an al fresco balcony overlooking the ocean. Ouzo — With a menu created by Michelin-starred chef Lefteris Lazarou, this beachfront restaurant serves traditional Greek dishes with a contemporary twist; try the pork souvlaki or crispy sea bream fillet with a side of ocean view. The Garden — Wine and dine on a warm summers evening at this intimate eatery situated on a terrace within the gardens. Relaxed lounge dining with an à la carte menu inspired by local produce and paired with an exquisite wine menu. This dining venue is open for breakfast and dinner.

Do I need a visa to visit the Maldives?
British passport holders are issued a free 30-day visitor visa on arrival. You'll need a passport valid for the duration of your stay, a confirmed onward ticket and proof of your accommodation booking.
When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.
What currency is used in the Maldives, and do I need cash?
The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa, but resorts price and bill in US dollars and take major cards. Most guests never need cash — a small amount is handy for tipping.
Is the Maldives good for honeymoons outside peak season?
Yes. Off-peak brings noticeably lower rates and quieter islands, and rain tends to come in short bursts rather than all day. Many resorts add honeymoon extras during these months.
What activities are there for older kids and teens in the Maldives?
