If you love French cuisine, look no further than La Belle Vie

An incredible way to kick off your Maldives holiday
“There's something pretty special about travelling by seaplane. The view from the sky is extraordinary - tiny specs of island and shades of blue that barely look real.”

The iconic, mile-long sandbank
Perfect for isolated sunbathing, dramatic photoshoots, and watching breathtaking Maldivian sunsets.

Snorkelling and diving isn't the only way to catch sight of the underwater world
“If snorkelling and diving isn't for you, it's possible to catch a glimpse of the reef from a glass-bottomed boat instead.”

Food & drink
Food and drink is a real highlight here, with five bars (one adults-only) and six restaurants offering flavours to satisfy all palettes. All of the à la carte restaurants – including luxury Greek spot Ouzo, and traditional Italian trattoria, Fresco – have menus designed by Michelin-starred chefs, and for each dish, there’s the perfect accompanying wine; just ask the sommelier for a recommendation from the extensive Ikos Cava wine cellar. It’s not just about the resort restaurants, either; Ikos’ innovative Dine Out concept means you can dine at selected local eateries for no extra cost, giving you plenty of opportunity to explore beyond the resort and sample the local flavours.
Dining is indulgent at IKOS Oceania. Guests are spoilt with à la carte Michelin-starred quality dining; both the Italian restaurant Fresco and contemporary Greek Ouzo are headed by Michelin-starred chefs. At Anaya, you can enjoy exquisite Asian dishes while Provence offers delicious Provençal cuisine. The main restaurant Flavours is where to head for all-day Mediterranean dining, and also features a designated adults area if you prefer to dine away in more sophisticated surrounds. There are six bars to choose from, including the Almyra Beach Bar and the swim-up Aqua Pool Bar. Serving fresh seafood, grilled meats and other dishes throughout the day with a resident DJ on hand, the Beach Club is a laid-back venue is the perfect spot to watch the sunset from.
We love Ouzo for its innovative Greek dishes, created by Michelin-starred chef Lefteris Lazarou, and a beautiful setting overlooking the blues of the Aegean.
Anaya — Indulge in Thai, Chinese and Indian-inspired dishes at this specialty à la carte restaurant, with an al fresco balcony overlooking the ocean. Expect ramen soup, duck spring rolls, homemade gyoza and Thai curries, finished off with a coconut-infused dessert. Provence — Head here for a Provence-inspired menu served in a romantic, sea-facing setting – think saffron mussels, filet de boeuf and tarte aux pommes – and make a beeline for the dedicated quiet area if you’re after extra serenity. Fresco — Fresh ingredients, an extensive wine list and elegant Italian dishes devised by Michelin-starred chef Ettore Botrini are the focus here, with pizzas, pastas and seafood served in bright, airy environs. Ouzo — Tuck into the likes of shrimp saganaki, Greek spinach risotto and lamb kleftiko at this delightful open-air restaurant, whose menu was designed by Michelin-starred chef Lefteris Lazarou; expect contemporary twists on traditional dishes with glittering ocean for a backdrop. Flavors — The place to head for all-day Mediterranean dining, Flavors serves elegant breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets with a focus on fresh produce and ocean views for a backdrop. There’s also a designated adults-only area, if you fancy a bit of peace and quiet. Beach Club — Serving fresh seafood, grilled meats and other dishes throughout the day with a resident DJ on hand, this laid-back venue is the perfect spot to watch the sunset from.

Questions? Sorted.
Do I need a visa to visit the Maldives?
British passport holders are issued a free 30-day visitor visa on arrival. You'll need a passport valid for the duration of your stay, a confirmed onward ticket and proof of your accommodation booking.
When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.
What currency is used in the Maldives, and do I need cash?
The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa, but resorts price and bill in US dollars and take major cards. Most guests never need cash — a small amount is handy for tipping.
Is the Maldives good for honeymoons outside peak season?
Yes. Off-peak brings noticeably lower rates and quieter islands, and rain tends to come in short bursts rather than all day. Many resorts add honeymoon extras during these months.
What activities are there for older kids and teens in the Maldives?
Most resorts run watersports centres with windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding, plus PADI dive courses from around age ten. Snorkelling safaris, sandbank trips and night fishing all suit older children.
