Hugging the north-east coast of Rhodes, this white-washed retreat spills onto the biscuity sands of a Blue Flag-awarded beach. A scattering of terracotta-roofed bungalows is arranged around two long, slender pools, lined by towering palms. For the best sea panoramas, nab the double sun bed perched on a tiny island over the swimming pool or one of the beachside loungers shaded by a sugar-white parasol. Children are well catered for at the hotel, with a kids’ club and pool, complete with waterslides, plus an all-day snack corner in the buffet restaurant.

While there’s not much reason to leave the hotel, a 20-minute drive north takes you to Rhodes Town. The capital is a cultural jigsaw whose many layers of history can be pieced together through its architecture styles – Byzantine, Ottoman, Italian. The Old Town is a living museum, with medieval walls wrapping around a labyrinthine core, where the legacy of the Knights of St John is etched across the old stones.
On Rhodes’ postcard-pretty coast, this luxe hotel has had a recent revamp.

And best of all, they're all included as part of the fantastic LUXURY MADE EASY all-inclusive package. Kids can enjoy a wide range of food as part of the Grecoland's Petite Gastronomie programme; there's the Tasty Corner at the kids' club which has mini buffet full of fresh dishes between 12.30pm and 5pm and serves hot and cold dishes at lunch; and at dinner you can eat together as a family with some restaurants featuring special kid-friendly menus.
Dama Dama — is an open-sided dining space, with tables and chairs spilling out onto the pool terrace. There’s a small bakery for baked treats to go and, later in the day, a hint of drama through the likes of live cooking stations and cold cuts sliced to order, along with thoughtful touches such as handmade pizza and a kids’ all-day snack corner.
With shimmering black and copper tiles, the open kitchen bar at Asiana catches magpie-eyed diners on their way into this sleek restaurant. Drink in hand, make your way to one of the glass-topped tables dotted throughout the stone-pillared space, where a menu of ever-changing dishes and fresh sushi options awaits. At Tavernaki Olive Oil you can enjoy dinner with a view: Greek plates created using locally sourced ingredients are served with a stunning resort backdrop. At Café Italia, there's a Patisserie & Chocolatiere where sweets, chocolates and macarrons are served throughout the day. At dinner, it's all about classic Italian tastes and freshly cooked hot-stone dishes.

When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.

The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa, but resorts price and bill in US dollars and take major cards. Most guests never need cash — a small amount is handy for tipping.
Is the Maldives good for honeymoons outside peak season?
