A family-friendly beach resort
A beachfront retreat for all the family, a short hop from Rhodes Town.
It’s all about the gleaming Aegean views at Electra Palace Rhodes. The hotel is right on the water’s edge and a handful of loungers are peppered along the manicured gardens, all the way down to the shore – the perfect perch for sun-seekers. For all the relaxation, and none of the sand, hotfoot it to the rescaped lagoon-style pool, which is so spacious that two bridges curve over the water. Despite its size, it feels fairly intimate thanks to olive trees and fanning palms creating a few shady little nooks. The water is surrounded by fresh cabanas, Jacuzzis, plush furniture and even features some cool and cooling in-pool loungers.

Restaurants span from the revived main restaurant, Beach Society, to the local speciality venue, The Greek Tray Club, while a handful of bars and cafés include a French pâtisserie, hip poolside haunt and breezy beach hangout.
The Beach Society restaurant follows the culinary trail around the Mediterranean; it's open for the resort's signature breakfast that's packed with super foods, honey tastings and innovative dishes alongside fesh-from-the-fruit juices; all-day dining between meals and a buffet-style dinner. The newest venue, The Greek Tray Club, is the place to head for inventive local cuisine that are perfectly paired with Greek wines.
Cafés and bars are spread throughout the resort: wash baked goods down with punchy espressos at the The French Bakery; drink cocktails to tracks mixed by a hip DJ at The Pool House Bar; or linger over a glass of spritzers on the sun deck at the renovated venue, The Spritzeria. Other bars include The Islander Bar which is located by the pool, La Onda Bar where cocktails are served with a side of sea views, and The Wine Gastro Bar. This is where you can enjoy typical small Greek meze dishes washed down with the finest tipples.
For an authentic taste of local cuisine, head to The Greek Tray where dishes include sea bass with Aegean pistachio cream and lamb racks with black garlic and goat cheese.

The Greek Tray Club — Nestled amongst the olive trees, enjoy Greek dishes paired with local wines. Do I need a visa to visit the Maldives?
British passport holders are issued a free 30-day visitor visa on arrival. You'll need a passport valid for the duration of your stay, a confirmed onward ticket and proof of your accommodation booking.
When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.
What currency is used in the Maldives, and do I need cash?
The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa, but resorts price and bill in US dollars and take major cards. Most guests never need cash — a small amount is handy for tipping.
Is the Maldives good for honeymoons outside peak season?
Yes. Off-peak brings noticeably lower rates and quieter islands, and rain tends to come in short bursts rather than all day. Many resorts add honeymoon extras during these months.
What activities are there for older kids and teens in the Maldives?
