Anassa
A perfect Mediterranean retreat
Understated luxury and sheer elegance within a resort of palatial yet simple Cypriot style
Attentive and personalised service, a breathtaking setting and low-key luxury – the world-renowned Anassa has it all and more. Exuding the sleepy charm of a traditional Byzantine village, the resort's collection of classically styled low-rise buildings are set around a village square which has views out over the long sandy beach and the Mediterranean Sea. One of our favourite European spots for either a romantic retreat or a luxury holiday, there is no shortage of facilities, activities and perhaps more importantly, secluded spots to escape to. The Roman-style spa is an award-winning retreat with an indoor pool, thalassotherapy pools and a range of treatments using 100% organic products and seawater. Your children are well catered for here with clubs for youngsters from four months to 12 years.

If you love French cuisine, look no further than La Belle Vie

An incredible way to kick off your Maldives holiday
“There's something pretty special about travelling by seaplane. The view from the sky is extraordinary - tiny specs of island and shades of blue that barely look real.”

The iconic, mile-long sandbank
Perfect for isolated sunbathing, dramatic photoshoots, and watching breathtaking Maldivian sunsets.

Snorkelling and diving isn't the only way to catch sight of the underwater world
“If snorkelling and diving isn't for you, it's possible to catch a glimpse of the reef from a glass-bottomed boat instead.”

Food & drink
There are four wonderful restaurants allowing for a varied culinary experience with a real local touch as the fish is all fresh and much of the produce is sourced from local farms and villages. Most of the restaurants are aimed at providing fresh, wholesome and delicious food, with a couple specialising in family-friendly dining and one offering an adults-only retreat for those special romantic dinners.
Enjoy delicious and wholesome food at each of the four restaurants in the resort. The romantic candlelit setting of Basiliko is the perfect place to enjoy gourmet Asian and Mediterranean fusion cuisine, with speciality dishes including the Grilled Wagyu Beef Cannelloni and the Alaskan Black Cod. Helios is the resort's fine-dining restaurant, a stylish eatery with a stunning outdoor terrace and contemporary French and Mediterranean à la carte cuisine. Themed buffet dinners and à la carte dining can be enjoyed within the casual yet chic interior of Amphora, while at the shaded al fresco Pelagos taverna, meals combine sumptuous Mediterranean flavours with beautiful garden, pool and ocean views.
The hotel also offers a number of bars and lounges for you to explore during your stay. Head to the Amorosa Lounge & Terrace to enjoy casual drinks in a stunning setting, or venture to the elegant Armonia Bar & Terrace to enjoy a fantastic selection of pre-and-post dinner drinks and cocktails. During the day, the swim-up Meltemi Bar is the ideal place to cool off with a refreshing juice or cocktail, while the laid-back vibe of the beachside Blue Bar is the perfect accompaniment to the stunning ocean views and freshly made smoothies and ice creams.

Questions? Sorted.
Do I need a visa to visit the Maldives?
British passport holders are issued a free 30-day visitor visa on arrival. You'll need a passport valid for the duration of your stay, a confirmed onward ticket and proof of your accommodation booking.
When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
November to April is the dry season, with the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas. May to October brings shorter rain showers, lower prices and better surf.
What currency is used in the Maldives, and do I need cash?
The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa, but resorts price and bill in US dollars and take major cards. Most guests never need cash — a small amount is handy for tipping.
Is the Maldives good for honeymoons outside peak season?
Yes. Off-peak brings noticeably lower rates and quieter islands, and rain tends to come in short bursts rather than all day. Many resorts add honeymoon extras during these months.
What activities are there for older kids and teens in the Maldives?
Most resorts run watersports centres with windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding, plus PADI dive courses from around age ten. Snorkelling safaris, sandbank trips and night fishing all suit older children.
